In these unprecedented times we’d like to thank our ever-faithful VNA staff who are helping serve our community and patients in a less than usual role for themselves. We are so grateful for the work you’ve been doing ‘above and beyond’ your regular duties to help meet the needs of so many.
Richard B., on the finance team, is a creative problem solver who doesn’t see obstacles, but opportunities. Taking the time to seek out Leo, the Home Depot store manager in Sebastian, Richard explained personal protection equipment (PPE) was needed for VNA clinicians. Leo agreed to set aside mask shipments and notify Richard when they were ready for pick up. It’s his innate sense of optimism and action for which we’re thankful. Always recognizing a need, Richard has also been helping at the VNA Hospice House due to the temporary suspension of our Volunteer Program.
Joyce C., also on the finance team, knew right away how she could meet a critical need. Knowing there was a shortage of masks, and being a skilled seamstress, she’s been using her sewing machine at home to produce masks for our clinicians. In times like these, our VNA staff are living proof of our ‘WHY’ statement – Collaborating as a team to provide excellent care to patients and families-with integrity, compassion, knowledge and love-so that patients experience optimal quality of life at all times.
