Today, VNA Hospice Bereavement Services hosted a deeply moving Ceremony of Remembrance at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Vero Beach, honoring the lives of those who received care through VNA Hospice and have since passed.
This non-denominational service brought together grieving families, giving them space to remember, reflect, and share the love they continue to carry for those they’ve lost.
Heartfelt words were shared by VNA Hospice leadership, including Candi Alexander, Director of Patient Experience & Supportive Care Services, and Melissa King, Director of Bereavement Services, along with Laura Spillis, VNA Bereavement Counselor. Several participants also courageously spoke, offering touching stories that filled the sanctuary with both sorrow and celebration.
One of the most poignant moments came when VNA Music Therapist Tatiana Penagos performed a beautiful rendition of “I Hope You Dance” by Lee Ann Womack. As attendees held candles in memory of their loved ones, the emotion in the room was palpable.
Following the service, attendees gathered for coffee and cake, graciously served by Candi Massey (Sue – what’s her title??),alongside dedicated VNA volunteers.
It was a beautiful afternoon—one filled with healing, connection, and an undeniable reminder of the compassion at the heart of VNA Hospice Bereavement Services.
